uniquely...singapooOoo..zZZzzz...
This post took a while to arrive, thanks to Nik's enthusiasm in sending photos. Yes, Nik - you heard me, fool. Why are you turning into that Greek :D Empty promises and all...
Anyway, Nik and Raj came over to Singapore from the U.K. for a holiday. I was, naturally, the appointed tour guide. It turned out that I knew pretty much next to nothing about most of Singapore's tourist attractions, except that I knew they existed. Nik and Raj forgave me for that, knowing how little I've been back in Singapore since I went to the U.K.. What they would not forgive, is the fact that I forgot (or perhaps I never knew) that Singapore is in the middle of the monsoon season in January. I think I've promised them great and sunny weather. It rained the entire time they were here. Woohoo.
Well...it ain't my fault, fuckers. There's a song that goes "Singapura...sunny island, set on the sea...".
And so...to the onslaught of pictures. It's not a complete set, but since everyone's turning into Kostas, we'll just have to make do. Enjoy!

With Raj in his hotel room. Or was it Nik's? I got them rooms at Strand Hotel on Bencoolen Street. Their neighbours were Thai trannies. Can't say their trip was boring now, can they? HAHAHAAH.
Alot of the time was spent trawling Orchard Road and its many shopping malls...Nik and Raj were really interested in electronic products. Plus it was raining...don't think they took many pictures then.
We have all heard about Ministry of Sound opening up a branch in Singapore, so we decided to check it out one night and compare it with the one in London...thank god Karan got us all in free of charge.

Met Jason and Toby there too
The next couple of nights were spent going to various other bars/clubs...Raj wanted to go to Attica so much (the fool and his www.tilllate.com bullshit). We finally went to Clarke Quay, only to find that the place was empty. Guess we were there on a wrong night. So we ended up meeting Wanling at China Black (I think I got the name right) and then went on to IndoChine's Forbidden City.

Wanling (You could tell that Raj was still pretty disappointed about Attica)

Walked past Selegie Road, and towards Little India

After Raj rushed back to Manchester for his exams, the weather cleared significantly (I knew it was Raj) so Nik and I went for more sight-seeing adventures:

But not before stopping by my place to say hello to my family,

and stuffing ourselves with quality chicken rice at Wee Nam Kee :D

Raffles Hotel

The Long Bar

We then went on to Boat Quay...

which comes with a breathtaking view of the business district

and a psuedo English pub. Brilliant.

Saw this in the distance, and I told Nik that the dish-shaped roof is probably a revolving restaurant. It turned out to be the roof of the Supreme Court. How fucking embarrassing :P
So we kept on walking towards the opposite side of the river...and came across a statue of Sir Raffles Stamford, and the Merlion:

Woohoo!

Nik and I went to Chinatown for dinner, but not before stopping at the Sri Mariamman Temple, the oldest Hindu temple in Singapore:

Went back to Boat Quay for after dinner drinks with Perry
That's pretty much it. I suspect there's quite a few more pictures that I've missed, but you should have a pretty good idea of what we did during that period. They've cleaned out my bank account too.
Thank god Chinese New Year is this weekend. I still can't believe I've missed 3 consecutive Chinese New Year celebrations already. This year's reunion dinner will be the first in 6 years that my family will be having together with all members present. Sweet!
Wishing everyone a prosperous and healthy New Year!

Chuck Norris counted to infinity - twice.
Met up with my Army mates a couple of days ago because Justin is in Singapore for a holiday. Too bad the fool had to keep telling us random Chuck Norris facts.

Justin, Andrew, Dan, Victor and me.

- What happens when you know too much about Chuck Norris. Poor Justin.

"Chuck Norris does not sleep. He waits." Fact from: Random Chuck Norris Fact

Christmas Eve
Christmas eve as I hoped it would be: some wine between a few good friends, at a really quiet place. Nothing beats wearing shorts at a bar on Christmas eve :D Thanks to Alan, Winnie and Wendy, I had a great night at the Wine Network.

This is Kwality!
Goddammit. One of the reasons why I couldn't go back home earlier:

The feedback form for my old hall flat.
The lying motherfuckers. While the descriptions were accurate, they were mostly not our fault. Cunts. These fools are demanding £50 from each of us to "repair" what was already damaged when we moved in. How much does it cost to remove blue tack from a wall? Jesus!
